He was seen in the character named Oh Il in Squid Game Season 1 and he mesmerized everyone with his acting art. He has won the Golden Globe title. This title increased his popularity in South Korea. Later, in 2021, This famous Korean drama series became a global sensation.
However, his popularity took a dip soon after the success of the series when a woman filed a complaint against him in December 2021. He was accused of unacceptable behavior. However, Oh dismissed the allegations as baseless as the investigation began again, All the public advertisements in his name were removed.
On March 15, 2024, the case took another turn when the Seongnam Branch of Suwon District Court convicted him for the same reasons.
Oh was accused of inappropriately touching a woman in Daegu in 2017 and kissing her on the cheek. The South Korean actor has been ordered to participate in a 40-hour sexual spirit violence treatment program and has been sentenced to zero to eight months and two years in prison. Oh has one week to appeal two sexual harassment cases in 2017.
South Korean media reports highlighted that he kept his head down throughout the hearing.

Shortly after the trial, he quietly walked out of court with plans to appeal. Since this issue came to light, Oh has been omitted from other casting recommendations. His controversial involvement led to his part being edited out of the next Korean film.
According to reports from Korea, Oh was sentenced to up to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, by the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Court.
According to AFP, Judge Jeong Yeon-ju said the victim’s records and her claims about the attack “are consistent. and appear to be statements that cannot be made without actually experiencing them.”
The court further said, “What is written in the diary of the victim, and the counseling report of the victim after the incident, are quite consistent with the details of this case.”
“To determine if she can be sued for false accusation, we must first look at whether Oh was compelled or intimidated into sexual relations. It is difficult to eliminate the possibility that sexual relations took place against Oh’s inner wishes, but it is also not possible to say that oppressive tactics were used.”

For your information, Physical contact between men and women is not a cultural norm in Korea. A kiss on the cheek and/or a hug is a common way to greet each other in Europe. But this does not happen in Korea.
Very close friends of the opposite sex may hug, but not kiss. There is no “innocent” intention to view it in a Korean cultural context. Cheek kissing is not a healthy or harmless way to greet people there.
